On October 10, 2024, the Unified Culture Promotion Foundation (UNICPF), in collaboration with key partners, carried out a critical distribution of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Non-Food Items (NFIs) to 150 vulnerable internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Gubio camp, Konduga LGA, Borno State. The beneficiaries, including pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, elderly individuals, and people with special needs, were identified through a thorough house-to-house mobilization process.

The items, procured through the support of UNICEF and SIDA and stored at the Goal Prime warehouse, included reusable pads, soap, kettles, buckets, jerrycans, detergent, and towels. These essential supplies were distributed to households to address the urgent hygiene needs of the camp’s most vulnerable populations.

In addition to providing these critical items, UNICPF also conducted awareness campaigns to educate the community on proper water storage, sanitation practices, and waste disposal to prevent the spread of diseases in the camp.

This successful distribution was made possible through the collaboration of local authorities and humanitarian partners such as SEMA, IRC WASH Sector, and IOM CCCM. Together, they ensured a safe, organized process, allowing beneficiaries to receive their items with dignity and respect.

A breastfeeding mother from the community of Auno expressed her gratitude, noting that the supplies would provide much-needed relief for her family during these difficult times. Through ongoing efforts like these, UNICPF remains committed to supporting vulnerable communities and ensuring
